Description
This comedy film depicts the neighborly relationship between the Chen family, who practice traditional Chinese medicine, and the Ng family, who run a Western medicine clinic. It humorously portrays the clashes over language and culture, as well as the complexities of romance, reflecting the diversity of postwar Taiwanese society. Directed by Hsiao-hsien Hou, known as the 'Father of Taiwanese Cinema,' this film is a representative work of the Taiwanese-language film genre.
