In Taiwan, where the language shift from local languages (including Taiwanese) as people’s original mother tongues to Chinese (Taiwanese Mandarin) as the national language is underway, their language attitudes has become increasingly complex. Based on plurilingual perspective, this study, employing the method of language portrait, analyses them and focuses on their fluidity and complexity. The findings revealed that while the participants could be divided into two groups based on how actively they use Taiwanese, all positioned both Taiwanese and Mandarin as important languages for themselves. Furthermore, it was also shown that both groups potentially influence each other in terms of their language attitudes and practices. Based on these results, the paper critically examines and raises concerns on the multilingual policy currently being pursued in Taiwan.<br> </p> <p>本稿は、4名の台湾人を対象とした面接調査で得られた語りから、その言語意識を明らかにし、更にそこから得られる言語政策への示唆について考察したものである。従来母語であった台湾語をはじめとする土着言語から、国語である中国語（台湾華語）への言語交替が進行している台湾において、人々の言語意識は複雑化している。本研究では複言語主義の考え方に基づいて、面接調査に言語自画像の手法を取り入れ、言語意識の流動性や複合性に焦点を当てて分析を行った。その結果、調査協力者は台湾語使用の積極性という点で2グループに分かれたものの、全員が台湾語と中国語の両方を自身にとって重要な言語と位置付けていること、両グループが言語意識・実践の面で影響を与え合っている可能性等が明らかになった。またその結果を基に、現在台湾が進めている言語政策を批判的に検討し、それに対する問題提起も行った。<br> </p> DOI 10.57525/jalpjournal.22.1_22_43 オンライン閲覧公開範囲 インターネット公開 連携機関・データベース 科学技術振興機構 : J-STAGE http://www.jstage.jst.go.jp 外部サイト 少なく表示する
